Besides the very cool name, this girl makes fantastically beautiful artwork with acrylic and oil paints. At first glance I felt like I had seen this style a lot; big doll eyes, cute little animals, fine lines etc. It’s a bit of a trend (although a good one) with artists like Mark Ryden, Nicoletta Ceccoli and maybe a little Audrey Kawasaki creating exaggerated, almost anime-like characters and scenes with a realistic technique.
Somehow though, I find the work of Jennybird especially captivating, settling even. Her paintings are warm, inviting, abstract and fun. She uses beautiful, vibrant colours and creates images that invoke a pre-dream like fantasy world of infinite possibilities and beauty.
